Dane Ison – VOICE, MUSICAL THEATRE & SHOW CHOIR DIRECTOR
Dane Ison received a Bachelors of Education degree in Secondary Music Education at the University of Hawaii, Manoa and became an acclaimed Choir and Band Director in the DOE. He later served as a Program Director, Vocal Director and Creative Director at New Hope Oahu. Dane formed the first New Hope Youth Choir in 1999, which later became the New Hope Youth Performing Arts Center. Dane has directed numerous YPAC Musical Productions, (including “Godspell”, “Children of Eden”, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”, “Seussical” Jr.,“The Wiz”, “Godspell” Jr., “Les Miserables”, “Hairspray” Jr., “Into the Woods”, “Shrek” Jr. and recently “The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber”- a musical revue) and four national award-winning Show Choirs. Dane has sung the National and State Anthems at numerous University of Hawaii football games, then most recently played the Wiz in Imabrightkid’s production of “The Wiz” at Paliku Theatre, Sept. – Oct. 2018. He is now excited to premier Hawaii’s newest Performing Arts Center, YPAC808, in November 2018. Dane’s greatest passion is equipping and inspiring Hawaii’s youth in the Arts, helping and encouraging them to discover, develop and grow in their talents, gifts and character.
